Kiwanis meeting of April 13th, 2016

The agenda for this week followed :
1. The Bowling season is now over.
2. Michelle Lavoy was inducted into the Club
3. Michelle Germani was inducted into the club
4. April 15th-We are working a Blood Drive at the Red Cross building
5. Jeff Bell had his 3rd reading for membership
6. We will be sending 2 candidates to the Police Academy this year
7. April 16th-Celebrate Children at the Mall
8. April 16th-Kiwanis Spring Divisional-Contact Don Lutz if you can go
9. The Community Service Committee made a donation to the March of Dimes
10. Doug Kuras reminded the members of the Project 2nd Chance Fundraiser this Sunday at Buffalo Wild Wings
11. We are putting a basket together for Paula’s House Spring Fling
12. Volunteers are still needed for the Community Meal on April 28th
13. Volunteers are also needed for the Special Olympics Track Meet on May 13th
14. The next Board meeting is May 10th

Marc Gramlich, Director of the Monroe County Central Dispatch, was our gueast speaker today. They handle all 911 calls for the Monroe County Region,with a total of 16 dispatchers. There has been a 147% increase in calls since the increase of cell phones and other social media. There has been a dramatic increase in runs from the calls they get, including at least an average of 5 overdoses a day. He finished his presentation by answering questions from the members
