Kiwanis meeting of August 17th

The agenda followed for the week :
1. Suzie Cox-Grizzle gave a report on the recent Aktion Club Convention including personal and club awards they got
2. Dick Sager gave a report on the recent Regional Special Olympics Golf Event
3. The Social Committee will be going on a Wine Tour this Sunday
4. Volunteers are still needed for the Golf Outing this Sunday to benefit the Holiday Camp. See Nancy Wain if you can help
5. The Stepping Stones Therapeutic Riding is going to have a Fundraiser on September 10th. They are going o a Casino Trip to Greektown. For more information contact Denise at 755-8062 or Debbie at 845-7319
6. A new vendor has been selected for our shirt orders and we will have more information next week
7. Volunteers are still needed for ushering at Flat Rock speedway on September 3rd.See Gene Jenkins if you can help.This another way for us to generate monies as a Fundraiser
8. The next Board meeting is September 13th
9. Members are reminded to sign up for Patron ads as well as selling display ads for the Kiwanis Newsmagazine. They can be turned in each week at the meeting
Marsha Oberleiter was our guest speaker today. The topic of her presentation was on the Alzheimers Disease. There are 5.5 Million people with this disease. 1 in every 9 has the disease by age 65. She passed out information on how you can detect early matters by knowing the signs. She also gave us 10 ways to Love Your Brain.
