Kiwanis meeting of July 12th

Gunner Keegan and Tionna Gilmer were our guests today. After introductions we went into our agenda for the day that included the following items :
Birthday wishes went out to Jack Campbell,Don Lutz and Deb Staelgraeve
Club Anniversaries celebrated this week included Doug Kuras,Kristin Irwin and Milward Beaudry
14 Key Club members helped at the Habitat for Humanity on Tuesday 7/11/17
The Key Club will be doing an Adopt A Highway project on 7/21/17
Thank You notes were sent by the YMCA and the March of Dimes for our recent cntributions
The Social Committee will be attending a Toledo Mud Hens game on Wednesday 7/26/17.Anyone still wanting to go should contact Jim Petrangelo by this Friday 7/14/17 morning

7/26-Peanut Packing for sales at the Monroe County Fair (need 10 volunteers) contact Don Lutz
7/30-Peanut Sales at the Parade (need 10 volunteers) contact Don Lutz
8/3-Beer Sales at the Monroe County Fair (need volunteers) contact Doug Kuras
8/14-Special Olympics Regional Golf Outing (need volunteers and goodie bag items) contact Dick Sager
8/14-Kiwanis State Golf Outing. See Jim Petrangelo if you can make it so we can have a team to represent our club
9/15-The Aktion Club Conference need volunteers to help with a Welcome Committee. See Dick Sager if you can help out
The official start up for the Kiwanis Newsmagazine began today.Members were given packets to begin selling ads.Members not there today will be given out at the next meeting.We also started the list around for the Patron ads.This year the issue will come out on November 4th.
CASA Director,Stephanie Carlton,was our guest speaker today.They are housed in the Community Foundation Building on Macomb St.They were founded in Monroe in 1997 and have now partnered with ISD here in Monroe.They believe Every Child deserves a safe,loving,permanent home.
CASA is a Court Appointed Special Advocate group and they are based on the Child’s Rights.
