Kiwanis meeting of June 28th

Brooklyn Figueroa was introduced as our guest today
Our agenda followed for this week including :
New Rosters have been e-mailed to all members with a big thank you going out to Ryan Kane for putting it together for us
Gloria Rafko and Jerry Spence will be celebrating Birthdays this week
Judge Cheryl Lohmeyer is celebtrating a club membership this week
Next week we will be meeting at the Holiday Camp on North Custer at noon
There will be a Beer Tasting event on July 15th at Harbor Inn and Ale with proceeds going to Relay for Life
The next Board meeting will be on July11th at noon
Gene Jenkins presented the Club with a check from Flat Rock Speedway for our ushering we did at the Bus Races
The Social Committee will be going to a Toledo Mud Hens game on July 26th.If interested please contact Jim Petrangelo ASAP
Members are asked to sign up for a Fundraiser at the Monroe County Fair on August 3rd. We will be selling beer that night.Contact Doug Kuras if you can help
Rick Montcalm passed out fliers for the BEST.MEAL.EVER campaign going on from June 19th-August 25th at various locations in Monroe County.The YMCA is providing FREE lunch and activities for youth up to 18
Dick Sager is looking for volunteers for the Aktion Club Conference on September 15th including use of golf carts
The Specila Olympics Golf Outing is on August 14th and we could use volunteers for that event as well
Project Second Chance was the topic for our speaker today.It was formed in 2008 to work with abandoned dogs and incarcerated residents at the Youth Center .Speaking on behalf of the project were Founder and Director,Marji McIntyre and Board members Donna Cherba and Cheryl Wassus.
As a special guest we had Jenna with her adopted dog Almond.She gave a history of how she about getting a dog from Project Second Chance
